Global wood consumption to grow 37% by 2050

Recently, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations released a report entitled "Global Forest Sector Outlook 2050: Assessing Future Timber Demand and Sources for a Sustainable Economy".

Global consumption of sawn timber, veneer, plywood, particleboard, pulp and other primary wood products is projected to increase by 37% to 3.1 billion cubic meters of roundwood by 2050, based on a business-as-usual scenario equivalent.
